Dr. Mickey is an integrative family physician who is a native of St. Petersburg, FL and currently practices integrative and functional medicine in Pinellas Park, FL. She attended the University of South Florida Honors College and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and attended the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine to earn her Medical Degree in 2007. Reluctant to leave sunny Florida, she matched with her top-choice community family medicine residency program at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, FL where she received 3 years of training in adult medicine, pediatrics, and gynecology-obstetrics.
Since 2010, she has maintained her board-certification as a Diplomate of Family Medicine. She started her career as an employed physician practicing family medicine in Largo, FL for a large health care system. However, after just 1 year of conventional practice she knew she was destined for something else. She attended her first integrative medical conference in 2011 and her view of high-quality health care was forever changed. She became Board-certified in Integrative Holistic Medicine in 2014 and is now a perpetual Diplomate of the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine (ABIHM). She is a member of the A4M American Academy of Anti-Aging and Metabolic Medicine and completed course work for their Fellowship training. She is also an active member of the American Academy of Ozonotherapy where she has undergone advanced train in using oxidative oxygen therapies to help rebuild her patient’s health.
Her goal is optimal health for all her patients. She understands that conventional pharmaceuticals have their place, sometimes offering life-enhancing symptom management of many acute and chronic illnesses. However, for true healing she has discovered that with proper diet, natural hormonal supports and other lifestyle improvements she can optimize the health of her patients without the need for multiple pharmaceuticals. She also relies on protective nutraceutical supplements to prevent depletion of important vitamins, minerals and other nutritional co-factors that are the contribute to many diseases and can be further depleted by many synthetic pharmaceuticals with long-term use.
